This project is located at the northwest corner of US Highway 40 and Sunlight Drive in the City of Steamboat Springs. The plan created 90 housing units and was designed to help provide housing to the “Missing Middle” or Moderate Income earners of Routt County.
The project included two, four-story buildings and created a high-quality, affordable housing for the City of Steamboat Springs workforce. A significant portion of Steamboat Springs’ economy is based on tourism. Yet many of the service workers and middle managers needed to fuel the local economy cannot afford to live in Steamboat Springs and it is not uncommon for workers to travel for hours each day to-and-from their jobs. Sunlight Crossings provided an affordable housing option for these workers and their families.
The project is located on a 3.5-acre site and required new water and sewer infrastructure, drainage systems, CDOT access permitting and collaboration with adjacent property owners, and water quality improvements.
